On June 14, 2017, a delegation headed by deputy secretary and government chief of Huancui District, Xu Ming, visited Puyi and organized a seminar regarding development of Puyi. This seminar, attended by the company’s deputy general manager Zhang Jian, has gathered various parties including District Government Office, Development and Reform Bureau, Planning Bureau, Housing and Construction Bureau, Forestry Bureau, Bureau of Environmental Protection, Land and Resources Bureau, etc.

Puyi top management introduced the marine exhaust gas cleaning system project of magnesium method in detail to the delegation. It was explained that the magnesium method is a high-tech marine desulfurization technology developed through cooperation with Dalian Maritime University. The equipment used is more compact, cost-effective and reliable stacking up against that used in traditional method. With treatment effect compliant with the strictest 0.1%m/m emission limit, this method has been approved by CCS, BV, LR and ABS. Earlier this year, Puyi attended Sea Asia and Bariship in April and May respectively, during which its new method had drawn close attention from shipowners, shipyards and other related parties.

As the enforcement of sulfur cap regulated by IMO approaches, it is increasingly urgent for shipowners to settle on a compliant solution. Since it’s much more cost-effective than low-sulfur oil, marine exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) has emerged as an attractive option. More and more shipowners are inclined to opt for EGCS, both domestically and abroad. So far Puyi has concluded contracts with a wide range of shipowners and shipyards, altogether providing over 100 solution proposals, covering all kinds of vessel types.

Xu fully affirmed the pleasant development trend and market prospect of magnesium method, and inquired in detail about the problems and demands Puyi encountered. He requested district governments at all levels to increase support for Puyi’s desulfurization project, and also expressed earnest hope that Puyi continuously improves its technical capacity, strive to win a larger share in both national and international markets.

In the future, Weihai Puyi will consistently focus on marine desulfurization technology, expand cooperation scope with strategic partners, and reach out to domestic and abroad markets, to provide customers with premium products and professional services.
